CE Credit
Earn While You Learn! This Externship can earn you 28 Continuing Education credits. The training virtually fulfills the biennial continuing education requirement for license renewal for social workers, licensed counselors, psychologists and marriage and family therapists. ABOUT OUR TRAINERS:
Lisa J. Palmer, Psy.D. is a licensed marriage and family therapist in San Diego California. She is a Certified EFT Trainer and Supervisor and is a Founder and one of the Directors of the Emotionally Focused Couples Training and Research Institute at Alliant International University. Lisa completed her dissertation research on how to train and teach Emotionally Focused Couples therapy to professionals. Dr. Sue Johnson, the founder of EFT and Dr. Scott Woolley were part of her dissertation committee. Dr. Palmer-Olsen’s primary clinical and research interests are in the areas of couple and family therapy; specifically with those couples and families dealing with trauma and attachment related struggles. She is an AAMFT clinical member and approved AAMFT supervisor. Dr. Palmer-Olsen is also co-founder and clinic director for the Alliant Couple and Family Clinic (ACFC), San Diego-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit therapy clinic. Jeff Hickey has over 25 years experience working with couples, about half of that specializing in EFT. In over 5 years as an EFT trainer he has led Externships, Core Skills and Specialized Trainings in Chicago and around the country to consistently high praise. In addition to having a private practice focused on couples Jeff is a Certified Sex Therapist and he has a special interest in bringing improved sex lives to couples and increased awareness of sexual health concerns to the practice of couple therapy. He is the Director of the Chicago Center for EFT, and is certified as an EFT practitioner, supervisor and trainer by the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy.

To participate, you must have the training and educational qualifications to legally practice as a professional mental health practitioner in the area I live OR be currently enrolled in formal training to be a professional mental health practitioner.***

Certification in EFT is offered by ICEEFT based on completion of all requirements and demonstrated competence in the model. Completion of training does not guarantee competence or certification.
